What a pleasure to hear soothing words from our president-elect Joe Biden.
Soothing words that lift our spirits up, not words that drag us down into the depths of despair.
Trump shows you who he is- his silence is deafening.
He has no words of truth or compassion because he is only interested in himself and his need for revenge and retaliation.
The people voted in droves this year to make their voices heard. And we welcome this thanksgiving as … Read more »

Dear all…

Don’t assume anything is active, because it may be inactive!

We can’t trust Trump with this election knowing how he is conniving to steal it!

A friend forwarded this to me this morning (see below.) Please make sure you’re registered to vote. This election is too important…

Hoping you’re all well…

“Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman Adm. Mike Mullen said yesterday that there are limits to American military power and it’s time for the State Department and other agencies to step up efforts abroad. “US foreign policy is still too dominated by the military, too dependent upon the generals and admirals who lead our major overseas commands and not enough on the State Department,” he said.”

I felt like I was in suspended animation as I read the Supreme Court decision which, essentially enables a corporate coup d’état of America’s Democracy.

Our country’s Founding Fathers never intended for monarchs or the business establishment to rule our nation. No, the Founders of our country began the Constitution with the words, “We the People of the United States…”

That sentiment was again expressed when President Lincoln in his famous Gettysburg Address said it simply but powerfully, that our … Read more »

There has been a lot of conversation lately about how the ability to identify with another person’s circumstance makes one unqualified to wear the judicial robe. Since President Obama’s nomination of Judge Sotomayor to the Supreme Court, the word empathy has taken a beating. The other day, Dick Cheney came out in support of gay marriage, stating “freedom means freedom for everyone”aI guess Cheney finally allowed himself to share the empathy he felt for his daughter with the rest of … Read more »

Last weekend, I was in Washington DC to accept the Kennedy Center Honors, and I noticed that the kiss between me and the “soon to be former” President Bush created quite a stir. The Today Show even proclaimed that it was a sign of the apocalypse. The timing is ironic. After eight years of President Clinton and on the cusp of at least four years of President Obama, I get selected to receive this prestigious awardaduring the Bush Administration. I … Read more »

Americans can’t take anything for granted on Tues November 4th.  In the 2000 and 2004 elections, voter fraud, voter suppression and voter intimidation were rampant, especially in the critical swing states Florida and Ohio. This year, we are likely to break voter turnout records.  Hundreds of thousands of voters have lined up to vote early around the country, and we have already heard numerous accounts of electronic voting machine glitches, registration and ballot issues and long lines.  The information posted … Read more »

Democracy Is Dying, Starting in Portland

Reports confirm that law abiding American citizens are being plucked off the streets of Portland, Oregon, by otherwise unidentified groups of men wearing camouflage clothing, carrying weapons, and cruising in unmarked combat vehicles.

The same reports identify these vigilantes as troops from U.S. Customs and Border Patrol and security services under the control of the Department of Homeland Security.  The acting deputy secretary of DHS, Ken Cuccinelli, stated what many immediately believed, that this … Read more »

Whenever I hear white Americans say “my family had nothing to do with slavery so why should I apologize” I think of Willy Brandt.

Willy Brandt was Germany’s Chancellor from 1969 to 1974. In 1970, he made an historic visit to Poland. Brandt came to the site of the Warsaw Ghetto—an open-air walled prison where the Nazis forced Jews to live before “liquidating” it in 1943. Brandt came to acknowledge Germany’s culpability in the

It’s always upsetting when my words are taken out of context.

Here is the truth. When I started working on my 1976 movie, A Star is Born, I tried to get my friend Sydney Pollack to direct it. I hired Frank Pierson to rewrite the screenplay, but then he told me he wouldn’t do a second draft unless he also directed the film. And since Sydney was unavailable and we had to start shooting, I had to agree to … Read more »

I cloned Sammie once when she died… yet I keep hearing I cloned her two times. You can get a litter of puppies from one cloning… and that’s what we got. I also read that I cloned her in Korea… also untrue. It was in the USA. The cost was half of what they say!

I explained my reasons in this article which I feel I must share again.

To clarity misinformation in a story issued by local Los Angeles television station, KABC, the nature of cloning occasionally results in the birth of a litter rather than a single animal. The cloning procedure in this case resulted in a litter of four beautiful puppies, three of which survived. The KABC story was inaccurate in it’s headline which stated that Ms. Streisand had had beloved Coton de Tuléar, Samantha, cloned twice. The fact is that in using the DNA of … Read more »

After putting out an article (on this website) about how fake news gets almost double the tweets than real news, I felt really sad. Why are people so drawn to insults and negativity? Why do fake stories sell more than true ones ? Is it human nature? When I do an interview, I like to be quoted accurately. I also expect the truth to be told, with facts checked.

This is why I’m reluctant to give interviews without having quote approval. In last week’s Variety article, they mistakenly made it sound like I didn’t want to be in Funny Girl! What??? I fought hard for that part! How could they make that mistake? I loved the character of Fanny Brice (they even misspelled her name Franny).… Read more »

As the anthem plays let’s sing
And raise our voices even louder
Since the real danger lies in the sound of silence
