A Vanity Fair April, 2002 article reported that Barbra Streisand
has a “contract rider demanding rose pedals be strewn in backstage
toilet.”

TRUTH

Absolutely false. But this is one of those dreamed-up stories where
a journalist figures “if it’s whacky enough, people will believe
it.” Such journalists also assume that if it’s silly enough, no
one will bother to deny it and it will take on its own truth. But
that’s exactly why “Truth Alert” was born, to keep sloppy journalists
from making up their own “truth” instead of writing a story the
old fashioned way, researching and verifying it.
